ASUS has only released a handful of new peripherals this year under the Republic of Gamers brand, and here at Player, we are impressed by everything they have thrown at us. Today expanded gaming mouse pad as another new product.
Naming Scabbard with the mouse “buffer” is very damaging to this object, which comes in a vast depth of three feet and 40cm. It is not the largest one on the market. But it is large enough to hold any keyboard with its dimensions on the market. For the most enthusiastic gamer’s movements, it still allows a large area of mouse surface.
The surface is Cordura Lite fabric sets Scabbard apart from other play mats on the market. Branded materials like these provide light, durable performance. It widely used in several market segments, including footwear and clothing. It promises improved friction and corrosion resistance and is resistant to liquids of all qualities perfectly suited to the playing surface.
To ensure that your scabbard stays on your favorite desk, the rubber is fully supported by a “Red ROG” non-slip rubber base. It can be any color, as you will never see it during the procedure.
ASUS resisted the temptation to chaos in Scabbard design with massive graphics and instead opted for a few secret design tips. We find the famous Republic of Gamers logo at the top left of Scabbard.
On the upper right-hand side of the mouse pad is the name of the product, which has a “Glow in the Dark” badge! It’s just a gimmick because my right doesn’t shine. This can happen when it is dark with no other lights, but it is not useful for the end-user.
- Measures at 35.4" x 15.7" with a thickness of 0.08"
- Splash-proof, stain-resistant Cordura Lite fabric with anti-fray stitched edges for prolonged lifespan
- Textile-weave surface optimized for both laser and optical gaming mice
Using Scabbard for daily use, I found more than able to meet my needs. Windows apps are easy to navigate and edit the images you see in this review. The mouse sensor tracking was exact and did what I expected.
While playing, this is where Scabbard (and Cordura’s tapestry in particular) looked. Cordura fabric weaves give a slight shaving to the surface, which means the mouse delights it with ease.
Before I tested Scabbard, I was using a smoother fabric surface. I was thrilled with that, to be honest, but by using Scabbard, I realized how much cloud the shiny surface was giving me. When playing PUBG, it was especially evident. Movements of Mouse required less effort. The old playing surface on my poor PUBG performance so far on. It has nothing skill level to do.
I was very impressed by Scabbard’s performance, and I am very impressed with Cordura’s texture on the playing surface. Mouse tracking was flawless, and it’s a massive bonus that it’s waterproof. There is no liquid spilled on the Cordura, and when cleaned, it will not leave any residue or show any traces after the spill.
The design is too small, but it looks good, in my opinion. The “glow in the dark” character seems like just a gimmick, but I’m happy to ignore it. Only long-term use will determine the scabbard’s price, but I’m sure my time with it will look good so far.
Retail sales for less than £ 40 in the UK, but as at the time of the review, Scabbard does not come cheap. There is no question that a brand name like Cordura influenced the price, but it is a brand that I think deserves a big price tag. I bought a big cheap office pillow in the past, it was only a few weeks old, and it had some stains on it and broke and pulled the surface texture. If Scabbard happens to be a long-term investment, it is well worth the price.
ASUS ROG Scabbard I liked and using was amazed at the difference I showed. The earlier playing surface also a great feature of the disc. I love it so much, and I decided to keep Scabbard as my daily driver.
